Pixel Tab 2
While there’s no official information yet, rumors have been circulating since early this year. In February, we discovered two hardware codenames—Clementine and Kiyomi—related to unreleased Google devices. These codenames share thematic similarities with the original Pixel Tablet’s internal codename, Tangorpro (which refers to hybrid citrus fruits). It’s reasonable to assume that these new codenames hint at the development of the Pixel Tablet 2.
However, details about these devices remain scarce, and it’s unclear whether they’ll be released as separate models or a single successor to the first-gen Pixel Tablet.
Leaker @MysteryLupin suggests that Google plans to “relaunch” the original Pixel Tablet at I/O 2024. This relaunch would involve selling the tablet without its charging dock and introducing first-party accessories like a stylus and Bluetooth keyboard. If this rumor holds true, it might delay the release of the Pixel Tablet 2 until 2025 or later.
The absence of substantial leaks or reports about the Pixel Tablet 2 makes its existence uncertain, and we’re more likely to hear about improvements to the existing model during Google I/O.
While the chances of the Pixel Tablet 2 being announced are currently slim, we’ll keep an eye out for any updates. Thanks!
