LG will provide iPhone 16 Pro series telephoto camera

LG Innotek will provide the entire initial supply of telephoto camera modules for the iPhone 16 Pro models. According to The Elec, the Korean component manufacturer has received the full order for the first batch of folded-zoom modules and will also supply the OIS actuator in collaboration with Jahwa Electronics. The initial batch for the iPhone 16 Pro and iPhone 16 Pro Max is reported to be more than half of the total forecasted amount, with some estimates suggesting it could be around 70%. The remaining modules are expected to be produced in Q4 2024 by Foxconn and Cowell as Apple seeks to lower costs.

Last year, LG Innotek was the exclusive supplier for the iPhone 15 Pro Max. Although Sharp was initially expected to join this year, the Japanese company has withdrawn. Both the iPhone 16 Pro and Pro Max will feature the new Tetraprism camera with 5x optical zoom.
